Before making ANY big decision – do this
Deciding to move was not something I decided on a whim.
Actually, quite the contrary.
What happened was things started changing in the town I live.
The culture started to change, the restrictions in 2020, the people, and just the overall vibe I felt.
The reasons for which I initially fell in love with the city, were no longer the case.
But, I held out for my deep love of nature.
But, what began to take place, was that I was thinking I should move, because I no longer enjoyed it here.
And this is what I want to dive into.
Whether it’s
- A move
- Leaving a relationship
- Leaving a job
- Letting go of a friendship
Implementing this, will change everything.
How our brain works, is it wants to protect us from threat.
Our brains #1 job is to keep us alive.
Not providing us with happiness and pleasure and fulfillment, but to keep us alive.
And so with that, our brain is always seeking out threat.
And so even in the instance of “Maybe I should leave a partner” or “I think I should move”, the brain can often times get hyper focused on the negative, SO THAT it will keep you alive.
Therefore, quite literally creating a reality in which we do not enjoy.
But here’s the thing…
When we make any decision out of trying to escape – we have not learned the lesson.
And therefore, the lesson will follow us to the next place, situation, or relationship.
And usually – increased in intensity a few notches.
We have to learn to love it, before we leave it.
What?!
Okay, I know, bare with me.
When I first heard this, I felt like it was the craziest idea ever.
Because, “I want to leave BECAUSE I don’t like it. Why would I make myself like it?!”
The truth is, whatever situation you are in, whether where you live, a relationship, a job, etc. – you are there for a reason.
Your Soul has led you there.
For the knowledge, the lessons, the wisdom, the growth.
So that it may prepare you for the next.
And ultimately, what you came here to do and achieve and create in this life experience.
By leaving on a bad note, we essentially take all the energy and lesson with us, and will experience it in the next place, the next relationship, or the next job.
So for me, I realized some of the things I thought were “signs” to leave, simply were not.
They were opportunities for me to actually work through my own sh*t lol.
And as humans, signs to leave feel wayyyyyy more fun – I get it.
But if you want to create a truly amazing life, we have to get clear on what are signs, versus what are reflections based off of the energy we are holding and radiating in our field.
So – what do we do?
How do we learn to love something we dislike?
I’m so glad you asked 😉
For every, and I mean EVERY, circumstance, situation, and thing we view as “negative”, there is EQUAL qualities that are positive.
This is the Law of Balance.
A Universal Law that Source created in order to create a harmonious world.
When I learned this law, it quite literally turned my world upside down 🌎
And not just like – “oh everything is good and bad”, but when you really get into the nitty gritty details that everything, I mean EVERYTHING, is equally good, and equally bad.
And if it wasn’t, the Universe would explode.
Because for every negative, there has to be a positive.
And for every positive, there has to be a negative.
Take for example - stealing.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not a proponent of stealing, at all, nor am I advocating it.
But, hear me out for a second.
A person who steals – what could be a potential positive to this?
Well, the store may implement better security systems.
They may hire someone who is needing a job and that is their role to prevent theft.
And the person who steals…
That could be what leads to their awakening when they get in trouble.
It could lead to health issues in the body that then they become a healer later on.
It could wreck their relationships, which leads them to want to learn about relationships, and meet someone who changes their life, and they work to create a foundation that helps people one day.
These are just a FEW of the many possibilities and probabilities of the equal positives alongside the negative of a person stealing.
And so now, back to me and my situation and moving…
I had to come to LOVE Portland.
Completely fall back in LOVE with this city.
To see that:
- It has hands down the BEST nature 🌲 (I still believe this lol)
- It supports small businesses 🏬
- There are so many options for healthy food 🍲
And I mean – we can complain about the rain, because let’s be honest – it’s a LOT 🌧
(which, I’ve learned some people here truly love the rain lol)
But when I reminded myself that, the rain leads to the most abundantly beautiful waterfalls.
Like – WHAT A GIFT.
So you see – every perceived negative, has a positive.
And so whatever you are contemplating in your life, whatever decision, move, or change, I’d encourage you to get out a piece of paper and write down ALL the negatives.
Don’t hold back, write them ALL down.
And then, begin to look into and think – what are potential positives for each of these?
This is how we begin to come to neutrality.
To equilibrium.
And this, is the prime energy for hearing our intuition loud and clear, and, making incredibly effective and purposeful decisions, in alignment with our Higher Self and Soul path.
And so, I truly love this town.
Honestly, so much.
And, I cannot deny my Soul is leading me and guiding me somewhere else.
And, I can hold both of these.
Both of these can be true.
And what an expansive, and liberating, thing that is.
